Assessment to suit you

At SLT UK our team of speech and language therapists can provide assessments on an immediate basis for individuals who have difficulties with their eating, drinking or swallowing.

The speech and language therapist will make an observational assessment but also take a detailed case history to identify potential difficulties to inform the direction for speech and language therapy intervention.

What is included in an assessment for eating, drinking and swallowing disorders at SLT UK?

As part of the assessment, the speech and language therapist will explain their findings and any diagnosis’ made to you. The assessment will also provide the opportunity for the individual or family to express their concerns and ask questions regarding their eating, drinking and swallowing.

Following the assessment the speech and language therapist will discuss with you the treatment options available to you and establish your goals for speech and language therapy.
