What is early intervention?
Our speech and language therapists offer an excellent service of early intervention to ensure our clients receive the best possible outcome from speech and language therapy.
Early intervention is highly beneficial for individuals with speech, language and communication needs. Studies have found that the earlier an individual receives speech and language therapy, the better the outcome regarding their speech, language and communication abilities.
Early intervention is usually a term used for intervention which is received in the pre-school years. Here at SLT UK we define early intervention as intervention which is received at the earliest possible stage from the onset of a speech, language and communication difficulty.
For adults and older children with speech, language and communication difficulties it has also been found that the earlier speech and language therapy is received and the more intensive the treatment is, the better the outcome will be for the individual, regarding their speech, language and communication needs.
What will early intervention involve?
For adults and older children with speech, language and communication difficulties, our speech and language therapists will carry out an initial assessment to determine what speech and language therapy services that individual will need.
Our speech and language therapists will ensure the individual receives an appropriate speech and language therapy service to meet their needs as early as possible.
Our speech and language therapists are dedicated to ensuring our clients receive the best possible outcome from speech and language therapy.
