What reviews can we offer?
The speech and language therapist will provide reviews for an individual’s speech, language and communication needs after an initial assessment, or for individuals with ongoing treatment. The speech and language therapist will also provide reviews regarding an individual’s eating and drinking difficulties.
What will a review involve?
A review of an individual’s speech, language or eating and drinking abilities will be carried out by the speech and language therapist. Reviews will be carried out after an initial assessment or for individuals with ongoing treatment. The speech and language therapist will carry out assessments and observations to determine the individual’s current speech, language and communication abilities.
Why would a patient need a speech and language therapy review?
A speech and language therapy review may be carried out for a number of reasons, these can include:
- A review of an individual’s speech, language and communication needs to decide if an individual can be discharged or needs further speech and language therapy input.
- An education setting review.
- A review to see if an individual needs any extra support regarding their communication or communication aids.
- A review of an individual’s special educational needs.
- A review of an individual’s care plan or eating and drinking plan
- A review of an individual’s mental capacity and ability to make decisions.
Reviews can be carried out on a regular or longer term basis which will depend on the reasons for needing a review and also the individual’s specific speech, language and communication needs.
