Our speech and language therapists provide a specialised training service for care homes. This service provides training for care home staff on aspects of speech, language, communication, eating and drinking.

What type of training does SLT UK provide for care homes?

Our speech and language therapists will provide training on any aspect of speech, language, communication, eating and drinking. Our training packages will vary depending on the specific needs and requirements of the care home. Training within care homes will usually focus on:

• Mealtime safety, when assisting with eating and drinking.
• Education and awareness on eating and drinking to identify the signs of aspiration.
• Education and awareness on communication.
• Effectively communicating with clients.
• Education on communication difficulties and specific conditions.

Our training packages provide education for care staff on speech, language, communication, eating and drinking. We will also provide skills on how best to support effective communication within the care home environment.

We can increase the knowledge and understanding of care home staff in order to create a more effective communication environment and a safer eating and drinking environment for the patient within the care home.
